Centerforce Clutch

Just thought Id share some pics, as there were some clutch discussions here in the recent past. As my '51 Tudor project creeps along I'm getting closer to dropping in my 276 8ba and last night I installed my flywheel and clutch. The Centerforce stuff is really nice. The barbed hose fitting below the oil pressure sender is for an upcoming engine pre-lube.

would it be possible for you to list the part numbers for the setup. And what is required re the throw out bearing etc.
I would be very interested in getting a setup like that.
Is the flywheel a stock ford one?
thanks Lawrie

Thanks Tim, that is one step sorted.
Just need the info on the cover and plate\Lawrie

I think the 8BA & 59AB style may be different part numbers. I know you are on the other side of the world, but I'd advise all to call them. Their website is horrible and difficult to navigate. I kick myself for not keeping the receipt on the Centerforce stuff. I must have lost it somewhere and no longer have the exact part numbers I used for a 59AB motor.

When I called, their tech department rattled off part numbers off the top of their heads and knew exactly the parts I needed. I got their pressure plate and clutch disc mated to a Weber flywheel.

Excellent set up. I can't recommend it highly enough in any lighter car.

I think you are going to very happy with it. Once it breaks in, it takes very little pressure to activate, yet holds rock solid. I think their flathead stuff is rated up to 400 hp.

The part numbers for my 8ba application is: 706360 flywheel, CF365221 pressure plate and 384162 disc. Like Tim mentioned, I'm using an original throw out bearing. Centerforce tech line is: 928 771 8422, they're great on the phone.

Yo Shoebox . . . GREAT looking engine! I bet you can't wait to have it installed and running. "Hotrod Christmas" will be here soon. :D:D:D

One of the best experiences in our silly little worlds is starting up a newly built performance flathead for the first time. Makes me feel like a 7th grade boy who kissed his first girl. :D

Lawrie:

I use the stock throw out bearing with my Centerforce clutch

interesting! well, imo. OP pix FH project... sweet! awesome project. glad he posted pix to share. :)

I have done some interesting FH V8/clutch hookups... pressure plate/FW to TO bearing to free pedal clearance to Model A in past times. what was a stonewall block... was soon readily solved and car (Model A/FHV8 '53 flattie) soon roadworthy. i guess it worked really slick, 'cause i had no idea if it would or not!

sometimes 'ya just get lucky! :D

Been using Centerforce pressure plates, clutch disks and flywheels parts for a long time have thousands of miles on the parts I use behind the ARDUN in my Deuce roadster. Also set a lot of very fast records using only Centerforce components in our race car. 5

Could you post a picture of the inside of the bell housing where the spring that holds the clutch lever connects. You may not hate got to that yet.
I am having clutch issues. I would like to see how that spring hooks up. I think I have a problem with mine.
Your motor looks really good.

That helps. It does look like it would be hard to get on. I am not sure if mine is on or not and I can see why they say you have to pull the transmission back to tell.
Does your arm have any up and down play to speak of. Mine does and that's why I am thinking something is not right with it.
Going to try and post a short video of the arm movement. Thanks for the help.

Well the trans is out so I can flop it about some, but after putting the trans in there won't be much for vertical movement.
