Edelbrock Super dual

Pretty sure that's what they were used for. I have a bunch of old speed catalogs out in the garage. I buy everyone from the 1950s I find. I keep meaning to see if that Weiand adapter is for sale in one of them. I might even have an old Weiand catalog. The problem with the stroke I had is I can't remember to do stuff. My attention span is gone. I'll be 63 tomorrow but I feel like I'm 93. A stroke is weird deal. One minute I was fine and the next minute my had brain had gone whacko. It's like somebody hit the delete button to part of it in there.

I do have a 1958 Weiand catalog. Pretty good catalog. It shows a tiny photo of the adapter I have for the manifolds with no generator mount. It says, No 4. '42-'48 Fan bracket fits manifold that does not have a fan mount. $5.50. I paid a lot more for it.

Here's the Weiand generator mount that was available at one time. It is a very hard part to find. This solves the lack of a generator mount on the front of any intakes that were made without a mount. This one has never been used its got that perfect patina a part will get from hanging from a nail in a garage for 60 plus years. The Weiand part number 4 can be seen under the mount. No its not for sale :D

Ron, this mount is not what I was searching about. I has generator mount on both my intake the PM7 and the Super.
If I using the the Super I need a mount on head for the generator and depends on pumps ( short or the 8RT ) it must be 2 versions on that mount.
The one I search a info was this. Se pic.

Hank that part on the front of the intake looks like the Ford truck F-1 fan bearing shaft hub mount that appears to have been painted an aluminum color. The location of that hole for what you would like to use for a fan center location is in my opinion to low to work.
The lower radiator hoses I believe would be in the way of the fan blades. But you never know being a hot rod engine anything is possible including cutting the fan blades so they do not hit the lower hoses.

Looking at all options mentioned in this and previous posts, seems like the order of business really needs to be the following:

1) Establish final placement of engine and, if, you plan to use motor mounts like a '32 originally did or mount the motor off of the water pumps or something else entirely. Determine what ignition you plan to use since this could dictate what style water pumps and crank pulley you will need to use.

1A) Establish what intake you plan to use

2) Once ignition & intake established, this will determine how to proceed with a fan set up.

Ronnie,

The fan bracket in the picture could be this Offenhauser unit. It can flipped 180 to either raise or lower the fan and then adjusted on the generator stud.

Tim, as I said my std 32 front cross is cutted so I will use moutor mounts on the pumps.
I’m pretty shore I will leve the PM 7 and use the Super ( like the 40’s catalog Bell Auto look )
What I cant decide now is if I stick with the Vertex ( mane sense ) and go for the 8B pumps.
Today I located 2 Kong distributors.
Nothing told if for sale or price.
Actually I think I will has both, so who I start to use if what I can find/get.
Now I has the idea what next.
Then its how this bracket on intake can get me a fan there.
Its hard on the Vertex, but I will let time tell.
If I find a Kong I get it.

Keep in mind that the Vertex mag or any converted Flathead distributor will have an advance mechanism - while the Kong ignition and the Harman Collins mags do not.

I sure like having an advance mechanism - is a lot easier on the starter when it doesn't have to push against 24 degrees of spark advance while starting.

Found this at 90 USD at a swapmeet here in Sweden.
I did not need it, but I found the other bracket we discussed ( Offy 3499 )
No name on it but aluminium.

Ron, the Kong had a wire to lower igniton. Right (?)

-I bought the Kurten distributor ( based out of a LincolnV12 ) in late 40’s for higher RPM, but I just in case, so will I use it, lets see.
I came to think, how is advance works ?
Open for a Kong.

Here is the Super intake and the pass side head mount to generator I found and I also bought a 40 style generator.
The fan is still a issue and the Kurten is big so fan need have a longer hub or shorter wings.

I start understand why many use electric fans..
