Brake Light Switch

Very few things on my 30 2 door sedan have been, let’s say customized to be nice. The brake light switch area is one of those places. I am curious if there is a different setup to install a brake light switch of the same or different style. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Larry

What is wrong with the original way? Can yours be "unmodified"?
