Melling M19 Pump Concern

I have a Melling M19 oil pump that I purchased new about 5 years ago for a future build. Well, that build is in progress and unboxing the pump I see this little instruction sheet advising there is a shorter screw for a specific hole for attaching the pickup. When using that screw and provided lock washer there is only about 3 threads going into the pump. Now I could lose the lockwasher and use locktite or source a slightly longer screw but, in recent times have any of you guys seen this? It just doesn't instill confidence.

Like Dale wrote above the longer bolt will work fine i always use the original Ford oil pump pickup bolts whit the M-19.

Dale & Ronnie, Thanks much for your responses, I am humbled by your experience. Am I to understand that this long bolt, short bolt situation has always been an M19 thing? I just want to know I don't have a "blem" with a band aid fix. Thank again.
