Your first three inspections are free (except oil)

Nice old promo film. Found it interesting that a Ford film called it an emergency brake when so many today want to call it a parking brake :p

It's all about making the world safe for you. They never want to mention that you may encounter an emergency while out driving.

The use of the name "emergency brake" may have been used to satisfy the officials. The Model T could loose the working brake if the rear end failed or the band started smoking and the emergency brake on the Model T was really used in emergencies, and it was used to augment the foot brake. The Model A brakes are very reliable and I have never heard of any failing, except by abuse when running down a long grade.

I don't think Ford knew what to call it either. If you look
in the parts book they have sections for Emergency Brake,
Hand Brake Lever (Side), Hand Brake Lever(Center),and
Emergency Brake Control.
