I have a 31 coupe that is in need of some heavy duty inner fender repairs. I'm trying to develop a plan of attack. I'm thinking that I can weld in some patchs along the tops of the indentions. But how can I patch the inner fenders and keep the bolt holes aligned? Again I was thinking maybe I can glue a patch over it but, well please help!! I'm not a experienced body man so I need your help! Please!!!

).So, are you talking about the 'DIMPLES' where the headlight bar attaches AND the dimples where the splash apron/fender mate??
If so, these are common areas of wear/distress. Good news is is that 'dimple patches' are available to repair these.

Vendors do sell the inner fender well patches for the different models. While not perfect they will save you time. There is also a thread 1930 Ford Sheetmetal Work that you might want to take a look at.
