Autometer #2356 is a drop in swap for the factory ammeter and is available on Amazon.
I trimmed about 3/16” off of the posts and it fits like a glove no interference with the gas tank.
For those that want to retain the 20 or 30 amp original type ammeter, a simple fix is to take the meter to a meter repair shop and have it re-shunted to read double. This can be done without disassembling the meter itself. Or if you want to go all out, the meter shop can renumber the meter face to indicate any ammount.
Here is a simple solution for mounting extra gauges to eliminate "hang downs".
The speedo is digital with timing features such as elapsed time, successive lap times and tattletale.
The tach is up where you can see it for button shifting.
The gauge bracket can be done at home with hand tools.
At this time the engine still had 4 sparkplugs.

That's a nice drop in voltmeter. But the scale range is too large to be very helpful. You really can't see the difference between say 6.0 volts and 6.5 volts. Ideally, you would want a scale range of 0 volts to 8 volts maybe 10 volts at the most. This would allow you to see the minor changes in voltage that can indicate battery health.
