The magazine...Ford Life...

The Ford Life magizine started in November of 1970 which covered things about the Ford Motor Company from 1903 to the Edsel.

I think the publication is no more and I was wondering just how long the run was?

Thanks.

Steve Plucker . . . . . . . . . . . .
"FORD LIFE" first issue came out as a Nov.-Dec. 1970 issue. The publisher was Lorin Sorensen and the co-publisher was Gordon Chamberlain. The final issue was the Vol.4, Number 3 issue. They ended up with 5,639 subscribers.
Lorin Sorensen went on to produce the FORDIANA SERIES plus several other great books on the history of the early FORD car.

As a point of information, the first issue of FORD LIFE had three different cover notations. All three had the same cover of Henry & Edsel leaning on a '28 Tudor but the line underneath read #1, "November-December 1970",One Dollar and Fifty Cents the Copy. #2, "Volume One. Number One", One Dollar and Fifty Cents the Copy, #3, "First Edition",Nov.-Dec. 1970. The contents were all the same, I have no idea why the changes.

There was an index printed in 1975 by arrl McDonald. It has 17 pages printed on both sides and the Model A topics cover two pages of the index.

Loren passed away last year...he was a prolific writer and had access to all Ford files.

i had the chance to meet him, he was my neighbor, i could throw a foot ball and hit his house. he was a good man, easy to talk to and very interesting to listen to. i an grateful that i had the chance to meet him

Regarding the first issue, I asked Loren about that and he told me he was trying to get the magazine going and mailed out the first issue (with the noted changes) three times because he didn't have enough for the second issue at that time.
