Posting images directly in threads.

Mart,
nice of you to do this. I have always posted my photos on my email and then dropped here. Some sites are so easy, HAMB for example has always been set up better then here, for ease of use.

Ya know, it's pretty sad that there are still a number of folks on this wonderful "Ford Barn" site who can be considered as "REGULARS", that continue to regularly moan and groan about how difficult it is to post pictures here on the 'Barn. This is not the first time that our English friend "Mart" has gone out of his way to produce some sort of instructional presentation to help those having trouble posting pics on Ford Barn. I count myself as a big advocate of this current picture-posting system we have available to us. It's just too damn easy once you get the hang of it. I have also put together a couple of tutorials (see one at the BOTTOM of this post) that walk you through several different methods of posting pics herein.

It is worth noting the number of NEW MEMBERS that I notice from time to time that obviously find no problem with posting pictures, going by their post counts and pictures posted. It's almost like some folks just won't take the time to sit down and practice with the instructionals that have been made available. I am one of the most computer-illiterate people on the planet, yet I've taught MYSELF the ins & out of posting my pictures here. It is NOT rocket science! BELOW is my contribution to help anyone wishing to post pictures here on F'Barn! I'll be glad to host any additional questions or requests for help.

I fail to see why going to the trouble posting a full size picture. All you have to do is click on the picture and you will get full size.

I fail to see why others take a picture and then repost it full size. Seems you are costing the owner if the site (Ryan) a lot because of this. I guess if it's not your money, who cares ???? Never mind the additional space it takes up trying it in the test area (you would think hey would edit it out once it
is done).

Sure, maybe the people like it - but they can get the same thing just by clicking on the picture as I mentioned.

The file size of pictures can be adjusted but you may have a point about them taking up more server space and bandwidth - I have no clue what that cost might be.

But an advantage is you can post them in text. For example, if posting steps in a process you can insert the picture related to each step within the text of that step. That's more understandable than having a line of thumbnails at the bottom of the post and having to click on the right one as you read each step.
