After washing heavy or really stinky stale old motor oil, diesel fuel, gasoline. or old school gear lube off, there is sometimes a stale oily smell left on my hands. I found that cheap toothpaste, like the convenient little tubes you get in motels or goody bags from the dentists removes the smell (also most bad breath, except onions). Brand name? CSS(Cheap Chinese S'tuff' ;supposedly sold as floor cleaner and wax remover). Also good in situations like checking oil, when you can't wash up. Works good on dogs that have been 'skunked'. Take a mouthful, slobber it up, spit on your stinking hands or dog, and wipe or rinse.Cheapest toothpaste works OK too.
I've used DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) for forty years for arthritis-like symptoms. I've asked doctors, chiropractors, naturopaths, and even the VA if it's bad or dangerous and they all say no. DMSO works good on hemorrhoids, too. People say it promotes cataracts, but I can't see it. For a year or so, we used heated DMSO at work to clean printed circuit boards, with company doctors and OSHA not objecting. Every one in the plant generally felt better, but we all smelled bad.
