Tudie 36

Looking for an intake for Tudie. 3 bolt carb mount for Stromberg 1936, 85 hp. Any suggestions or tips for disassembly and install. Thanks Greg In Tennessee. Attached pic. This is on there now, I repaired this repair, it still looks crappy and leaks. Thanks for responses

Liberally coat both mating surfaces of the new inlet manifold gasket with grease. Aids in sealing and you'll be able to remove and reuse it in the future.

I have an intake manifold for a 36 that is dirty, dirty, dirty but with some good old fashioned elbow grease should clean up nicely. I'm just too old and tired to fool with it. $25.00 plus the ride and it's yours.

P.S. Follow Brian's advice about coating both surfaces with grease TO ALL GASKETS, except exhaust, regardless of where they live. It has worked for me for decades.

I probably have one, also. Would need help for proper identification.... just to verify.

Not pretty. It is what it is. I defer to Lawson. His is much closer than mine. Lawson, this one came in that same group of parts that got you that crankcase breather cap, a few years ago. i.e.... I don't know the history.

Is that a weld that I see? If so, you could have somebody who is used to welding old cast aluminum with TIG fix the thing? You can always clean up the repair afterwards.

Or just replace the manifold with the one that Lawson has (probably the best idea).

Thanks fellers, I have an excellent aluminum welder that will repair the intake for me. I’d like one not repaired and keep this one for back up.

Doesn’t look too bad to me. Is it three bolt carb ?
