Electric wiper motor control parts

I have located an OD-C3 motor in working condition, but it has none of the control switch pieces. Where can I find these parts ? I do have the wiper arm.

Many thanks - Jim

Some of the levers are reproduced for the Owen Dyneto types but the parts that go internal to the units may not be. A person would have to fabricate the needed parts or find another unit for parts.

There are a few folks that rebuild stuff for these types but I don't know if they could help or not.

Here’s motor I just acquired - no other parts came with it. I don’t know what the functions of the three stalks are ….one must be for the wiper blade and another for an on-off switch. No idea what the function of the third stalk is.

The right is for the electric supply. The center is for the manual override arm, and the left is for the on/off arm. There are extensive diagrams of all the correct parts in the RG&JS.

Gary - thanks. I’ve checked the RG&JS and see what parts are needed. I’m not familiar with electric Model A wiper motors; all my previous A’s came with vacuum wipers. I don’t know, for example, how the manual override arm works.

I would love to find original parts if possible. I’m sure they’ll be at least as difficult to find as the electric motors.

Yes, good original switch levers are difficult to find as they were made of pot metal and most are cracked and badly pitted.

Thanks Gary. The repro parts appear to be chrome-plated brass and should be more durable - if they fit.

The phenolic plastic electrical terminal connectors are a available. The wiper arm attaches to the long drive rod and then it extends into the cab where a lever for hand operation (manual override) is then installed. The rubber boot for the mounting legs are also available. Grounding is provided on one of the mounting lugs to the body of the car.

These units lasted long time if well stored and maintained. Many survivors are still out there. They don't suffer the high manifold pressure slows like a vacuum wiper motor can while driving at speed in the rain.
