How does the rumble seat attach on a 34 roadster? I have these brackets, but not sure how it goes together as it was apart when I got it. Here's pics of what I have.

The two brackets in the Third Gen illustration attach to the inside of the rumble lid down approximately 4" from the top of the lid and 27" apart (to the center lines of the holes in the bracket). If your rumble lid is original and not a converted deck lid, the four holes should be there on the inner panel. The back of the rumble seat back spring then hook on to those two brackets. That spring is also held against the inner lid with simpler brackets that correspond to two #10 clinch nuts attached near the bottom of the lid spaced about 25" apart..

I think that if he wanted to poll the site as to the virtues and vices of rumble seats and conversely trunks on cars that did not originally have trunks, likely he would have asked.

They are similar, if not the, lower strap brackets to retain the bottom of the rumble back spring to the bottom of the rumble lid.

I recieved the upper brackets for the rumble seat. My problem is that the holes don't line up. The holes in the rumble seat cover are 2 1/4" center to center. The clips are 1 5/8" center to center. I noticed two round indentations below the bolt holes (see attached pic) that match up perfectly. Is this where this goes? If so what are the two other holes for?

NO Pic

1 5/8" center to center of the holes in an inner deck lid panel for the upper brackets is correct.
