WOODGRAIN (real)

The six screws in question as original were 12-24 x 9/16" Slotted Binding head screws in S-2 Finish.
Thank you very much! Would these be common hardware stock? Five of mine now have been Three-In-One'd; the other one, I will describe w/the Cool Hand Luke quote; to wit, "What we have here is failure to communicate."

(The vent mechanism was so much the same. Soooo much the same; hadn't a taste of lube in 87 years on the asssembly line.

Obviously seldom, if ever, used. Tight as a snare drum.

The 12-24 thread size is not common in hardware stores. Not to give a sales pitch but we sell them...

That's exceptional! As I commented, it's just the one that 'refuses to cooperate'.

A member suggestion, dremal the head off.

But that still does not result in enough screw grab-surface; although then the dash could be removed for woodgraining.

When I posted this post(s) about the windshield removal to replace the cracked plate-glass, and that now would be the time to remove the dash for woodgraining, I did not realize the cost of woodgrain'g a dash and the three window mouldings.

I just now received a quote from a most professional woodgrainer whom I contacted for a price and photo. It's outta the ballpark for me. I'm stunned. My wife has been 'forgiving' on $ spent so far, but this woodgraining price will be the 'last straw', so I had better do the hydraulic brake system as well as the presently all-over-the-road steering 'problem (steering prob which = the drag link-pitman arm).

The graining example photo is excellent-excellent, 1933 burled walnut, perfect perfect. thousands thousands!

and so not now.

So, I will continue to delve into this stubborn-screw, as long as I am 'into it'. I do not want to leave the 'task' half done, and 'close it up' because it is a nightmare; not exciting to come back to. AND, it's anybody's guess if in fact I can actually get it out.

Despite, I will purchase your (6) screws just to have them on hand for the one I will need.(thinking positively) What is your payment suggestion. (Personal check to be 'cashed' by you prior to sending the six screws?)

Thank you,

Patrick 'Pat' Malone

Here is a picture of my woodgrain with Mike Sander's original 4 door.

Original Wood-Grain Dash in my Australian 1934 Ford Deluxe Phaeton.
Thank you for this picture of 1934 (Australian ) wood grain . Hard to see pattern but from what I see, looks like mahonegy pattern . If you take a picture of inside of glove box door I will be able to tell more as to pattern.
I have many samples ( inside of glove box doors ) American wood grain is

different each year . My original 1933 2 door is the best example of 1933 wood grain. In my collection I have a nos 1932 window frame - a nos 1934 window frame -a nos 1934 glove box door - over 10 33-34 glove box doors . I think I have posted pictures in the past. One more tidbit 33-34 and now I see your ash tray cover is different,.

Thank you again for that super nice phaeton.

I think I was right as to your woodgrain (mahogny ) I also see that your door pannels are different than american. No exposed nail's and a different stitch pattern. Not wrong just different. A very nice car. Thank you for pictures.
