I just discovered the driver's side window in my 39 coupe is cracked. Do I need to use glass setting tape when I replace it? Thickness? Any other comments on the replacement procedure are welcome. Thanks, Ernie
when replacing the flat glass in our '41, I found the glass from our local auto glass shop a bit thinner than the original
Is 1939 glass the same thickness as 1940? My 1940 glass is 1/4 in. thick.
If so, here's some info. from HAMB.

Kube: Thanks for that info. about "today's" measurements. I didn't know that.
So what if he measured the stock glass and bought new tape & THEN discovered the new glass was thinner? Thought a heads up would help. sorry for trying to help!Exactly! That's why I posted the formula for figuring out the tape thickness.
