1939 Ford Tudor front seat position

My project '39 Tudor came with new floor and the front seat not installed. I know placement is somewhat discretionary but as a start what is the stock location. Maybe from the bottom of the toe board to front mounting bolt.

The new floor is flat as the stock stamped mount is not there and not available. I guess I have to put a plate in to strengthen where I mount the seat. The seat has the "slider".

Thanks

If it's a project you are going to keep then i would replace the flat floor with a reproduction one with the correct swages and mounting holes.
Not a huge job.
Available from Drake, Carpenter and United Panel for around $400.

I think my floor is ok. From searches it looks like the seat mounts are separate pieces. They have not been available but I see Ecklers SAYS they carry them I'll see.

BillW. I will try to help you. We also have 39’ 2Dr Sedan. Currently the seat is out for wire harness and drivetrain work. I am thinking prob best to give you measurements from the rear seat / trunk step up forward to front seat holes.
Or from a spot on rear of Trans backwards.
We will figure out something for you tomorrow.

Thanks. Any reference point works for me.

Do the seat bolts go through the floor and the frame like my 48 conv? On the 48, there is a wood piece that goes in between the floor and the frame and the bolts go through all three pieces. If so, then the holes in the frame should tell you where to drill the floor.

I must be a little tired from wrenching in Shop all day. Just realized I did not give you the Width. Will measure that in the morning.

I don’t believe the seat bolts on the 39’ passenger car go through the frame.
