Std or deluxe? I believe deluxe has more room due to the different radiator.

You will need the truck water pumps. The 39 DeLuxe fan will adapt to the Merc crank. Pan should work just fine. Also need a wide belt generator.

Yes it will fit. I have an 8BA in my 40 Ford which is basically the same engine compartment as a 39. To do this I used wide belt 8RT Ford truck pumps. '51 Merc pumps will also work. Also, 49-51 merc rear sump oil pan, starter plate and bellhousing. Also wide belt generator pulley. You will have to cut or remove the "Y" shaped inner front fender support brace to clear crank pulley. Radiator and thermostat housing hose dia. are different. The biggest problem is that the Merc fan belt pulley carrier bracket and pulley sits too high and cannot be adjusted low enough so that the fan blades do not cut into the top hoses. You also will need a wide belt pulley on the fan bracket so as to match the 2 sheave wide belt truck crank pulley.
