Anyone ever try to sleep in an A if so how did u manage it i was left at my gradge one night and was forced to (long story) i had to stick my feet out the window and is there any types of a that are more or less comfortible?

You drive a '28 pickup, right? I'd sleep in the bed. Add an air mattress (for comfort), a tarp (for protection from the weather), and a companion (for companionship).

When I was a teenager, on a camping trip up in the bush [ your 'woods'] I slept in my Tudor with the space between the seats filled up with gear. Seemed OK at the time!
A '31 Town Sedan I once had used hinges on the seat back to drop down for a bed but I never had it long enough to try it. Would say the Fordors with something like this would be the most comfortable. Cheaper than a motel.

Tudor back seats are great for "sleeping," whether in the "country" or the "bush."

Tudortomnz: World events have pushed you off the front pages.... how goes the post-quake cleanup?

I would pull the 2 pins on the front passenger seat of a Tudor and use something to make a level surface from the rear seat to the firewall.

John, a long way to go before it gets back to 'normal' but all essential services mostly back. Its vintage era rough roads again but the Model A can handle it.
Thanks
Tom

Right. Can you do it one-handed whilst your other hand is`"otherwise engaged," and your lips are saying "I have no idea; it just stopped?" (A/K/A "Looks like we're here for the night. Better make the best of it."):)

1928 pickup, how did you end up in that situation? I better not ask I guess.

When I had my first "A" back in the 50's there was lots of room in the back seat. But that was 50 years and 50 pounds age.

I have arranged with our friendly undertaker to make sure my coffin would fit in my huckster so it can be used to take me to the cemetary when I head for the great hereafter.

We have an undertaker in these parts that "customises" furnerals the way you want them. Have used fire trucks (fire chief died) farm wagons (farmers) etc. Will be interesting because he will also have to have the music of "When the saints come marching home" playing along the way. (Hope I am amoung them).

Not exactly sleeping in an A but getting prepared for the long one!

Hopefully, when it is time for me to go, I will have my 1929 AA Truck done by then!

A couple years ago while on the set of Public Enemies, we were out at Stateville prision in Joliet IL and we were up early, like 4am, and me and mornings have been bitter enemies for years. So, the sun came up and we weren't needed for a couple hours so I stretched out on the front seat of my truck, head against the driver's door and my feet hanging out the open side door. I had on sandals. A couple hours later I woke up with a very bad burn on my feet. So, yes, I've slept in my truck, it was comfortable, walking around in badly scorched feet for the next few days was not.

Last summer I visited the National Auto Museum in Reno where they had a vintage auto camping display. In one of the sedans there was a vintage accessory cot that was assembled inside a sedan in a way that made into a bed above the top of the seats.

I posted a photo. If you do a search for a thread called McQuown's Auto-Camp Supply Company you will see the photo I posted.

It doesn't seem like a huge job to make one of these for a Model A sedan if you were so inclined. I'll stick to camping in my 29CC if I ever get it back together.

Barry, to awncer your question my night started out around 8:00 were in my girlfriend picked up her two firends in my jeep and returned to the gradge with them. they decided to see a movie. While backing out of my snow coverd back driveway she got stuck. I was able to use the A with snow chains to get it out, after two hours of struggleing then she gets the jeep stuck on the big snow bank at the end of the driveway. there was no hope at this point had to call AAA by the time they came and the jeep was pulled out it was 11;30. they still wanted to go to the moveies to catch the mid nigth show. My two buddies who were with me were supposed to hang all night and play some monopoly for shots till they got back. unfortunatley not 30 minits later my buddy Steve confused his Diet coak with a bottlle of diet coke filled with used motor oil I use when im drilling. he got violentley ill and they both left now my phone was dead from useing it as a flashlight while trying to get the jeep out. now at this point my nights niot going how its suposed to by this point i should be sitting round with some buddies drunk as a skunk haveing a good old time and smokeing a cigar. Im doing none except for smoking the cigar and getting tired quick not to mention its 20 degrees out im running out of firewood quick and my truck is pissed at me that i made it do soem work so its not starting. i decided the best thing to do would be go to sleep till stacey got back. that wouldent be till 4ish. she figured i was having a blast with the guys and i had turned my phone off as a hint so her and the girls got out of the moveie went out to eat at a roast beef shop open till 3 then back till Karras house. for a while. so ya that is how i ended up sleeping in my truck .

The Model A front frnders and running boards make wonderful lounge chairs, if you don't have side mounts! Sunny side if it's cool, shady side if it's warm.

last year i went to the drive in movie. I have the spare tires in my fenders, so i sat on the fender, and rested my back on the tire, and put my feet on the bumper. It was pretty comfy; i slept the whole movie.
