bought a set of headlights from a member here. no headlights, no reply to email. dammit




edited. sorry guys. he had pictures, and wasn't your typical scammer sounding guy. put an add on here looking for a set of commercial 31 headlights. his price was in the right ball park, just feelin stupid. ive had nothing but great help here otherwise and love this place. just don't wana see anyone else get screwed

I've bought many items from members too -- I allways allow for delays. I never buy something I must have immediately either, as some of my sellers are in frozen country.
I hope this is what happen to Beater
 
Lesson learned!!! If I buy something from a member in the future I will check on the individuals membership and see how long he has been a member and what his activity has been.

He got me too with a set of fingerpulls. He asked for an amazon gift card, which is untraceable. We shouldn't have to worry about this on here. Will he get booted?

who looks after this kinda thing here? who is the fellow that approves and deletes members?
 
sorry to hear this happening on the fordbarn. im leary sometimes on a deal when the world is turning for the worst as we see. if possible, always try to make contact thru telephone on any deal and make sure its a real person. yes, always good to maybe google the person or telephone number. hope the best for you. dam it! dam people. I would have to say these fordbarn members have always been a great help 99% of the time. Ive met and talked with some good people past few years. hope we can find out who the dirt bag is who robbed you and warn others of him. take care, hope the best, better days are coming.

I've heard of this sort of thing happening and I'm always wary but I feel safer buying from a FB member than someone else. Not entirely without doubt but all of the deals I've done here have turned out well. I'm confident that the two I am waiting on now will be OK too. I don't have to do many deals to have more than one in transit at any one time - it takes anything between 2 ond 5 months for stuff to get here (7 months, one time).
I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan hasn't removed this guy already.
 
What you should know better about is telling Ryan instead of airing it here. Ryan will fix it, just like on the HAMB.
 
He tried the same with me after I posted a WTB for some Model T parts. The first red flag was when he sent me a picture of a pitman arm that I had seen in another post. The second red flag was when I checked his profile and saw he had just joined and had no posts. The third red flag was when he wanted paid with Amazon gift cards. I didn't go any further. I probably should have posted a warning to others. Art
 
I was also recently contacted by this scammer. I have a want ad posted for some beavertail fenders & he replied to it. I was suspicious of him because he did not have any post history. I asked for pictures of what he had. Fortunately for me he sent me a picture of a fender for a Harley motorcycle, so that was the end of that.

I shouldn't warn others? looks like he got a couple of us already, and trying to get some more of us. ryan will fix I hope yes, for now. they just come back with a new name and email addy
