We have the first Model A Ford Club in the Mafca Chapters within our Pasadena High School. To support our efforts we are raffling off our project car a 1929 Roadster. Each Contribution of $100.00 will receive one raffle entry ticket to win this car, pulling the winning ticket set for April 20th at the High School Auditorium at a concert.
Please send your contribution, which is tax deductible to PHSMAFC , 1968 Lake Ave, Altadena CA. 91001; please include a stamped self addressed envelope. Include your phone number and email address
Our students are learning how to use tools, dismantle and put back together the Model A.
You may also use your credit card and call 626 375 1367, ask for Wilbert Smith who will be able to take your information and send you a ticket for your contribution.
This is my first post here and I hope you can see our photos with our students at work. We need your support. I should also let you know we will accept any donation, we think this is a worth while project to show teenagers our hobby, so one day they might join us.

I have seen the results of the high school club's first restoration efforts and it was amazing.
Great to see these high school young men and women getting their hands dirty.

This is a great thing...Hopefully more of our younger generation of kids in other areas of the USA will want to do something as such.

Thanks for posting mreman. I think this is a wonderful program. I received my raffle tickets in the mail just yesterday.

It saddens me that all the High Schools in this area have discontinued their shop programs. I got my first interest in working on cars in Auto Shop that has lasted all my life. We had machine shop and wood shop as well.

Hi Pluck, We are only one High School with a program like this for young men and women. It is not easy to get funding so we look for others like you who believe it is an important way to reach the youngsters. therefore we need donations in any amount to keep the program moving and to encourage others to promote it in the area they live in. Talk to your friends.

Technology has it's downsides. I think the only way for a High School to have a shop class is if all the vehicles where for cars that do not have modern electronic ignition's and computerized components. The amount of money needed to be invested in electronic tools is just to much for the school's budget.

OR, ... they live behind gated communities.
