Can anyone tell me a good way to add a tachometer to my 1965 Mustang 289? Preferably, I would like to use my iPhone as the display, not a separate analog gauge. I presume Bluetooth would be be best type of connection for this scenario, correct? (Assuming that such a device even exists for old cars.)

Yeah, I spent about an hour on google before posting. I didn’t see much either.

I looked too, and there doesn’t seem to be much out there. Why not the Rally Pac repops. Probably worth more when selling comes.

Actually, I hadn’t considered a Rally Pack. That’s not a bad idea. Have you installed one? Is installation pretty straight forward?

An accurate tachometer is made by Auto Meter, and comes with instructions. I have had a cheapy tach, and a new store bought Sun, and both went goofy after about five hours of driving. The Auto Meter brand read RPM at ten or more hours of steady driving over the same roads at the same time of year. Buy a chrome can at the same time and mount it where you can see it.

CJ Pony Parts sells the wiring diagram separately. Lol. I would have thought that installation instructions would automatically come with a $500+ product.

For that price, they should fly out an installer and take you to dinner and a movie before flying back

This stuff sold for nothing back when ...
