I am not sure about that tool number that you stated but as the others have said that is an easy job with a common puller.usually part stores will lend or rent you one the biggest thing is to use what I call a bushing on the end that rests on the shaft when pulling as you do not want to mushroom the shaft easy to do if you do not use bushing.I have removed more than I care to remember a tip to use also is when you have good tension on puller give the bolt head on puller a good rap wait a bit then put a turn then repeat with rapping.make sure to use a good quality puller as cheap one will cause you grief
Most of them just need to remove the nut then use 2-bolts or occasionally a 3-bolts on a standard steering wheel puller. The splines can get messed up though and make it a bear to get back off. Most all wheels have a key spline to set them at the right position for straight ahead steering so that the wheel is clocked properly. If someone was trying to reclock the wheel, it can really be a giant PITA.
ok, got the wheel puller from Harbor Freight and found the bolt threads did not match. Best I could do by hand is rotate a bolt about 1 turn. Is there a special bolt size/thread pitch/count.
Solved the bolt issue, just had to put a little torque on the bolt. BUT, distance between the HB bolt slots are too wide. The Galaxie needs one inch inner dimension and HB unit is 1 1/4. I tried milling the slots but too much material to remove.
I use a big Snap On set. It has a larger slotted pulling head and a whole bunch of different size, thread, & length of bolts. You can never have too many tools as long as you can still find them when you need them.
I have 2 different pullers one is like a H this one is what you need the other I have is probably the one you have.if you have a napa or similar auto parts near you they may have this type.some will even lend them.good luck
