Am I the only one having a hard time finding a parts dealer that has a good selection of F2 parts?Tried LMC,MACs,Dennis Carpenter and find plenty of stuff for F1.Anyone know who might have F2 parts?

The fenders are all different because of the wheel opening diameter. So are the front fender lowers. I had a heck of a time finding sheetmetal and especially running boards. There seems to be 200 F1s for every F3. I don't understand it because the F3 works like a Super Duty. I would think everyone would want one.

I grew up with F1s, an F3, and an F5. The bigger they get the harder they ride when empty. We used our old F3 for hauling full grown bulls when ever we had to change sire on our cattle herds. That was the only time we had to use first gear but it rode like a Cadillac with a load.

The larger Ford F series trucks get harder to find parts for as the years go by. Now and then you will find someone with a stash of NOS stuff in adds from Hemmings. Folks that buy old FoMoCo dealership inventory are the ones to check with. Ford dealers stocked parts for trucks for years after they had cleared car parts inventories mostly because nobody wanted to buy the truck parts inventories.

try listing the parts you need, a lot are interchangeable, depending on what you are after. i know where there was a pretty complete f2 a year or so ago, don't know if it is still there but could check for you if you are interested.

Alot of the trim stuff for the interior is the same as a F-1. Fenders are the same for F-2 thru F-6. Engine stuff, obviously the same as F-1 thru F-6. THe bed is different, fits F-2 and 3's, running boards F-2 and 3 only. Glass and hoods are the same all the way up thru F-6. Brakes are F-2 only. Front axle parts are F-1 thru F-3, steering box is F-1 threu F-3. Radiator for 6 cyl are the same, 8 cyl are the same as F-1 thru F-6. Rear axles are F-2 and 3.
As you can see, only a few parts are specific to the F-2 or F-3. THe repo catalogs don't list the stuff as it should. Many of the items in there say F-1 only, but 90% of the stuff will also fit an F-2 or larger.

The lower front fender patch panels from a F1 can be modified to fit the larger wheel openings. Sheetmetal specific to F2-F3 simply doesn't exist. Supply and demand. Carpenter used to make flat long beds. Not enough demand for them and too much for the short ones means the presses are dedicated to the short ones. No front panels, they're wider than the 1/2 tons. Same with the tailgate. No bed cross pieces either and they're wood.
Local welding business bent up some angle strips for me along with full length sections to weld onto the bottom of the bed sides to replace the rust and made up my own cross pieces. F2s and 3s can be done but they're not as bolt-on restore as the F1s
