Hi

This is my first time on this forum. Okay here is what I have a 6 volt flat head 226 all new wiring harness new horn switch and horn relay. When the battery is connected the horn runs continually. Any help is appreciated

I had a couple of the new Chink made relays go bad and ground out in less then a week. Start with taking the wire off going to the steering column. If it keeps blowing then its the relay.

how many wires connect to your horn? two wires means the regulator is internal, one hot wire from the battery the other is a ground wire that goes to the horn wire coming thru the steering column, make sure the ground wire is not grounded at the connection causing the horn to blow or as skid said the regulator is bad

Thanks fellas,

One wire comes from the horn to the relay left side center is power and the right goes to the switch through the steering column. Disconnected the wire going to the horn button (through column) and it continued to blow. Sounds like a bad relay. Side note the relay makes a very noticeable clicking sound when the battery is disconnected then reconnected.

This is the correct wiring for the relay

Took the cover off and checked everything. All the connections are solid nothing broken or burned into , it does have a burnt smell to it and there is a discoloration in the coil part it appears a darker color than the rest

I would run some temp wiring from the horn button to the horn. It should only sound when the button is pressed. If that is so, your relay is bad. FYI, the 48-50 F1s didn't have a relay.

Yes the cover is metal when I took the cover off there was a wire that may be touching the case when it is installed. It is extending from the solder joint beyond the side of the relay. I will clip the wire and give it a go.

Thank you
