39 backing plate

I have changed backing plates on a 37 1/2 ton ford pickup to 39 to change to a hydraulic braking system however I cnt get the hubs to slide over the pads even after adjusting the cam adjusters on the pads


I have new cylinders on any suggestions im pretty sure 37-39 take same brake pads and use same hub. they have same part number in the ford chassis manual

Can you post a picture of the backing plate assembly with the hub off?

New aftermarket brake shoes? Some were made with the lower cam holes in the wrong place; which prevent the shoes from moving "high" enough to get the drums on. Here's a picture someone posted before regarding a similar problem.

I hate to be picky but they are brake shoes not brake pads
