so do I order from you? can I call tomorrow? i'm kurt and you built 3 97's for me a couple of years ago. have you sold many (crab dist) here, whats the feedback? are they well made? thanks, kurt.

I am HAPPY with the stock set-up Especially after Bubba and Charlieny worked their magic on the distributor and carburetor. (Unsolicited testimonial). The car starts on the second turn and runs great and I can buy a lot of gas, or parts or Beer for $400.bucks.

It seems like they avoid discussing the advance curve. That's allot of money for ???????
Max, you've always gave us a good product, you should tell us what's in it.

GB, not sure I understand what you are saying, did you not find the distributor page or you didn't like the page you found? The page link is: https://www.oneillvintageford.co.uk/acatalog/ford-flathead-v8-electronic-ignition.html#aE62A_2d12100

JD I trawled through the rest of the pages on this sight & clicked on the carb page as well & it's got the same girl.....I definately liked what i found...it was the scroll down comment that "got my mind going" and caused me to have a bit of a chortle:)

By the way I like the Stromberg distributors and carbs as well.

im still waiting on cloth covered leads being delivered before I can put it on. I don't know if they will get here before Christmas though what with the post the way it is from the states. No one in the UK keeps them in stock :(

I hope the cloth covered leads you are going to put on don't have wire cores. If they have they will likely fry the module.
You should only use carbon coated core wires with electronic ignition.

You should also carry a spare module in the car because when they die it is instant and permanent and only a new module will fix it. Ask me how I know.

the wires I have now are cloth covered and have wire cores however the ones I have ordered have carbon coated cores, I made sure they were compatible with electronic ignition before I bought them.

I don't know if Stromberg are selling spares at this point in time however I am going to keep my old dizzy under the seat for he time being just in case I need it

Strange not many liked electronic ignition because if it failed you were stranded. What makes this one any different from the other brand? I had the other brand for years until I had Bubba build me a distributor.

Still no advance curve. I'm surprised, that nobody is concerned about it as well. But it sure iz pretty.

Ron,
It appears to use a lot of the Mallory distributor parts and the advance is "totally" adjustable both in curve and the max amount. There is a hole in the upper plate to bend the tabs in and out to adjust the curve. Two springs are used a light one and a heavier one. By bending the correct spring the desired curve can be easily attained ( especially with a test machine).
The total is approx 11 degrees ( 22 engine) and may be adjusted using a allen wrench thru the same hole.
