Hi,
I got my uncle's 65 T-bird and I don't have any trunk keys. He was not able to locate them prior to having been placed in a nursing home. Can a good locksmith get the trunk open? Is there any other way to get in the trunk?
Thanks,
Earl in Va.

A good locksmith would be able to. I have had good luck just trying other trunk keys from fords. The dealer didn't happen to write the key code in the owners manual did they?

If all else fails you can likely access the trunk by removing the back seat and snaking your way into the trunk. Once inside you should be able to release the latch. Doesn't help immediately with the lost key issue but you would then be able to remove the cylinder and take it to a locksmith.

The glove box should be the same key . You may be able to have a key made fore it , but some manufactures only used three teeth on the glove box . good luck .

If it has a locking glove box, there may be a key code on the cylinder. That code shoud allow the locksmith to easily cut a key that will operate both unless either cylinder was changed without a complete lock cylinder kit.

The IGN and DOORS will have a code FA XXXX (four digits) and the GLOVE-BOX/DECK LID FB XXXX.

Go to a locksmith unless you want to crawl into the trunk to save a fee.

The code should be on the lock cylinder.

Thank you all for your help!!
I was looking for a glove box in front of the passenger's seat. I found the key cylinder in the console!!!
Thank you!! Again!!
