I am replacing my rear mount on my 1936 Ford Phaeton transmission. My question is there a special sealer needed to apply to the rubber parts of the mount where it bolts to the transmission? Also is there a grease besides Corn Head Grease that can be used on the universal joint?
thanks Dave T

There is a metal plate (B-5099) between the rubber and the back of the transmission and a gasket between the back of the transmission and the metal plate.

Try front drive axle constant velocity (CV) joint grease. It is also a semi-liquid that flows like the John Deere grease.
Incidentally, the JD grease comes in two types, one for high speed gearboxes and one for low speed use.
