'59 Custom 300 - Rear end too high?

I replaced the rear shocks on my '59 Custom 300 Fordor. The rear end is much higher than it used to be. I think it is too high. Any idea how high the bottom of rear bumper should be from the ground when it rolled off the assembly line ?

Thanks

If you mean it sits higher after you replaced the shocks, they must be the wrong ones and are bottomed out from being too long. Unless they are shocks with coil helper springs around them. Then the coils would need to be removed. to return to normal height.

Sal already said the first thing I thought of.

Option 2.
Did you look at the car right as you set it back on the ground, or after a drive around the block?
Straight off the jack, a car often won't fully settle back down to 'normal' until it's been moved around a bit.

Did you possibly flip the shackles when the car was up in the air

Flipping the shackles is hard work! I used the stock Monroe shocks on my '59 and also changed the springs a few months ago. I'll take a measurement later on.
