Found torque for flywheel [70 lbs ? ] in search forum. but could not find
torque for clutch . 8ba engine

Have old motors manual . Cant find it there either

Thanks

My manual (for 8RT's) says 17 - 20, can't believe they are different from 8BA's. They all use 5/16" bolts, right?

Just posting what I find end of story:
... Use a grade 8 fastener and the safety margin goes to almost 75%. ... John,PA, 08-15-2012 12:57:41 ... The generic torque specification for a new 5/16-18 grade 5 bolt is 17 lb-ft dry, 10 lb-ftwww.jalopyjournal.net...

If you are referring to the bolts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel, be sure to wedge the release levers before installation to prevent warping the pressure plate flange. This will help reduce the common clutch shudder.

I have heard this before. How do you do it?

John

17 - 20 lbs seems a bit light on to me for those..
I too would be interested on how you wedge the pressure plate...?
