I have a Standard 36. 1 tail light on drivers side. Can I swap it for the 35 short lamp ? I would also want to add a short lamp to the passenger side.

You can do anything you want. I have a Chevy motor olds disc brakes and Chevy rear end in our 35 Tudor sedan

The 36 gas filler neck comes out of the fender on a different angle than 35. You can't just swap left side rear taillight brackets to make this work. You can't change to '35 gas filler neck unless you add a vent tube like the '36 filler neck has. Probably a dumb question, but why wouldn't you keep the left side '36 taillight assembly like it is, and find a right side '36 taillight assembly the same length as left side and use that? I always thought '36 taillights look good on a '36. Of course it's your car and you can do anything you want to do with it, as long as you can make it work.

John. Thank you for taking the time to reply with great/useful info. I appreciate it. There is nothing wrong with the 36 stand. I just liked the short version better. I was hoping it was an easy swap like a lot of 35-6 parts. Looks like I'll just add a 36 stand to the passenger side.

There is also a different surface contour in the taillight mounting area between 35 & 36 fenders, so some type of sheet metal changes might be necessary at the base of the 35 taillight bracket going on a 36 fender.

I guess if I wanted them short that bad I could cut the 36 stands in half to shorten them. Not sure if would work on the gas side though due to the gas filler neck. When adding the stand to the passenger side is there a true location or pattern or just match the location best as possible to the drivers side. ?
