New guy with a crusty, rusty, 1930 A

Looks like this can go into the "worst before picture" thread.

Oh it's bad

I think this can go into the "Best Welcome to a New Guy" thread. His first thread and we got him to post 16 times! Plus hundreds of views by other Fordbarners!

Keep us up to date on your project, GT.

I will do that, I don't know if it'll
Be project worthy but I hope so

very cool -hopefully the car isnt supporting whats left of the coop. Wear your thick rubber/leather gloves for things that bite in that pile (alive, plant based, jagged rust, and broken glass :P) had about 4 all white baby opossums in the junk on the back of my AA when we drug it out. First thought they were kittens till one turned its face at me and hissed/growled...Momma opposum wasn't around (thankfully) so we put em in a box and took em back down to the tree line where the truck came from and dropped them back off...
.

Haven't found anything too bad yet, other than some spiders. (I don't do spiders). But anyhow, I made
More progress. Pics to come.

WOW There's car in there? It's coming out in pieces. As you free up pieces, take take home with you or protect them in some way. Lotta Rust! We'll explain what you can do with that old kidde pool and your battery charger later. Incidentally that hood is probably worth a minimum of $100. And I'll bet at least a couple of guys wanted to buy that car in the past.
Terry

There's a car in there lol, pics coming of some progress
Today. There are parts and pieces everywhere! Sort of wish someone would've bought it a long time ago, may have faired better than it is currently!

Made a little progress. There is a visible car now (sort of). Last pic is of the rear of the car thru the back of the coop.

Can see some fenders and other parts laying around also.

Hey, you really have some treasures in those belt pulley assemblies too. Could there have been a machine shop around that all those came from?

Keep up the good work.

Well congratulations! That's a 1930 Murray body fordor sedan. I can picture it finished already. :). Welcome to the club. Jeff

I'm not sure where those would've came from, be glad to sell them anyhow. I'm
Going to really get into it tomorrow. I didn't have much time today.

What does it being a Murray body mean? Anything special? Lol. Sorry I am a mustang and truck guy never knew much about A's.

There were two different body builders for Ford fordors. Briggs and Murray. There is a lot of wood in both of them. The top of the window openings have a slight curve for the Murray body. Briggs were straight across the top of the window openings.
Looking forward to seeing more of the car. Jeff

Thank you for telling me!! So interesting. I am going to keep digging tomorrow

Yep, 1930 Murray fordor, It might or might not be a Town Sedan. You got two radiators, so there's more than just the parts of one car. Check that wind shield frame out carefully. They're expensive so don't write it off too quickly if it seems rusty. They're worth saving.

Appreciate the info. I will get everything organized and take tons of pics because I honestly don't know what is there or what's what

Better shape than mine was in!! Atlease I didn't need to dig it out of scrap just had to Waite for the frozen block of ice it was invcased in to melt (took two months to melt btw) hahaha

According to a metal shaping class I once took, I recall the instructor saying if you hit the metal in the right place it will regain its original shape....:D
