roof/visor fit

Putting the car back together I have run into an issue where the roof meets with the visor. Is it normal to have the amount of gap shown in the pictures? I don't see how the trim piece would ever cover this. I installed new top wood and thought that was the problem and a little sanding would help. So I removed the front header and upper side piece that the roof is attached to with tacks. However, as can be seen in the pics, the gap is there even without the wood installed. I pulled the edge of the roof down to where it would meet the header before taking the pics. I'm sure it wasn't like that when I took the visor off. Any suggestions?

Is the front piece that attaches to the front header wood in place? As I recall the front piece of wood has a metal trim piece attahced to it - the piece that the windshield hinge attaches to. Then the visor attaches under that. I don't see that piece in the picture, maybe it is the angle I am looking at it, but I don't think the visor comes any were near the roof metal. Of course, I have a 29 Std Coupe so maybe it is completely different.....

jdupay, you are right that the metal trim piece is missing, as well as the front header wood. I took that off to see if I needed to shape the wood some to make the top metal fit better. But it it didn't have any effect. And, the visor attaches over that and rests on the header wood.
Thanks for the link Randy in ca. Thats definitel the look I want.....it just doesn't fit like that and Im not sure why. My body man may have to do a little work in this area....which would mean repaint. Just don't understand what is causing the metal to be raised in that area as I haven't done anything there during the rebuild.

Well that's good to know, that means wasn't put together correctly. My visor is mounted under the trim piece. I have found so many things not done right on this car, but when you inherit Grandpas car you fix it and live with it I guess.....
