Greasing front wheel bearings, thanks!

Ha I'm still finding spiders 2 years after it came out of the barn!

That inner bearing ought to pull right off.....after some of that gunk is gone...

Here is the video that I watched.
This plus the Les Andrews book got me through it.

Anybody else find the method of raising and "supporting" the vehicle in this video a little scary?:eek:

hahahaha, I never even noticed that!
I would never suggest or endorse that method.
Yep I had mine up on jack stands.
Even with the utmost care, things sometimes happens:eek:
I once had a CAST IRON, ratcheting jack stand break off the top end & punched a HOLE in the alujimum pan on a Jaguar XKE:eek:
Bill Pissed

It would be a lot easier to touch up the paint on the bottom of the axle, then pulling the spindle out of your gut after it slips off that pice of wood.

Last Thursday I had 3 coupons for the $99.99 H/F engine hoist, and 3 coupons for the $59.99 H/F 1 1/2 ton aluminum jack, both of which I bought, and they work great. No takers for any of the coupons.

ive heard of people using a strip of old berber carpet on top of the cast iron jack stands so it doesnt scratch the paint. Could use anything really from old seatbelt material to old frame welt.

When I 16, I was under my 56 Chevy (can't remember why), had only a floor jack holding it up. Didn't realize it was slowly leaking down. Before I knew it, there was enough force on my chest I couldn't scoot out from under it! Some wild screams brought my mom out into the garage and she gave the jack a couple pumps so I could get out. If she hadn't heard me, I probably would have suffocated. I always support with jackstands if any part of me is even close to being under the car, I leave the jack positioned too!
