We just got a 50 F1 in the floor board there was a tray. I barley remember years ago seeing this mounted behind the seat on one at a show. Am I mistaken?

It was mounted behind the seat above the gas tank.

I believe the end shape may have been a supplier/assembly plant variation. My '49 F4 has round ends. It was assembled in KC.

My 50 has square ends. It was assembled in the long Beach plant. The last year they assembled pickups.

I've parted out 6 trucks from 48-52 and all except the 52 had square ends. Most were built in the Somerville Ma. plant. I was basing it on that. It just may have been an area assembly plant supplier for the trays. But that fact is probably lost to the ages, unless there's evidence in the Ford archives.
