Anyone run these tires? Looking for my next tire selection, been through Firestone and Goodyear so far. 475/500 Lester seem a little small to me...
Steve

What did you find wrong with Goodyear. I find them the finest available and have them on 5 Model A Fords. are they too expensive for you ? Wayne

Steve, Gene T runs them on his Fordor Sedan and really likes them. They are Blackwalls so you really don't notice the slightly larger size.

Doug, I know he does. We talked about that out a Lake George at the New England Meet years ago. I am thinking that will be the direction I would take. I also like the black walls... Have not talked with Gene since he moved.

I have had Lester 475/500 -19" Lester tires on my 1930 coupe for the last 14 years. They are still like new, never had any problems. Car never sits outside. I put about 500 miles a year on it.

I have put 2 sets of Firestone's, 2 sets of Goodyear's, and Firestone rear with Goodyear fronts and around 70,000 since 07. Fun car to drive:-)
Looking to keep a wide tread, had considered going to 16's but...eh

Yes, all sets were new on the car. Firestone's don't hold up well for me, Goodyear's seem to wear well. I have been told that Lester gives better ride and handling...?

In my experience, Firestones were only good for about 7-8,000 miles, regardless of whether they were on front or back. I had much better luck with BF Goodrich Silvertown 550's before switching to 16's. Considering switching back to the BF Goodrich because I like the look & ride better and I still have them.

Here's my 5.50R19 Stahl Excelsior Radials. Couldn't ask for better looking tires. Excellent ride as well.
