39 ford std. question

Anyone out there installed a Mitchell Overdrive in a 39 Std. Ford coupe and did it fit? Talked with Sue and got all the dimensions and it looks like it will not fit without a mod. to the floor pan. I really don't want to cut a hole in the pan. Thanks.

Do a search, this was covered extensively last week, w/pictures and an install in a '40 I believe. Pictures show small "mod" to floor pan. Hope this helps.

I think the floor pan in that discussion was on a 47, not a 39. I think someone said they had one under their 40 sedan with no cutting on the floor.

There were a lot of comments on last weeks post, but no discussion on a 39. I know several folks that have Mitchell's in 46-48 cars, but none in a 39. I'm not sure if the floor pans are different, so thats why my question was related only to the 39 std. coupe. I did try to email the guy with the 40, but so far no reply. Thanks

I thought maybe you could add a extra leaf to the spring or a spacer. I have no clue what hits what. I have a 39 standard two door. I have been thinking about a Mitchell.

Do they make a synchronized transmissions for v8s. I have tried their website but you get more maps and unrelated stuff and have never really been able to view their products.

Go Columbia, its the best way! No butchering required and it fits because it was engineered to work in your Ford.
