Need help. Is there a piping between the side wall upholstery and the headliner? It was supplied in the LeBaron Bonney Kit with no instruction of were to use it. Called LB and they did not know were to put it????? Thanks ED

If you have a leather back Vicky, then the answer is yes, if you have a steel back Victoria then the answer is no. There may be some cross over during the change from the leather back to the steel back in about April of 1931

Thanks for the info. My car is a early Feb. leatherback. Having fun putting it back, but it is sad that LB lacks tech. info on products it sells. This site is the best. ED

They used to be better about that. I don't know what's happened over there. Too big? New owners? G-A-S attitude?

Ed,
The piping goes into the seam at the junction of the headliner and side and rear vertical panels. The headliner goes in first, then the side vertical panels. Before nailing along the tops of vertical panels, install the piping then nail the panels and piping together.

Bill Cilker has the usage of the piping right, and here is some conjecture rationale as to when and why the use of the piping stopped.

The Steel-Back has different interior wood than the Leather-Back 190As, so the vertical upholstery panels had to be changed to accommodate the new wood of the Steel-Backs. The change in upholstery panels was an opportunity to delete the piping as material and labor cost savings.
