Horn cover and conduit quesitons

My truck horn didn't have the horn cover in place when I bought it. The horn was sent off to convert to 12v system. However, in all of the photos I have, I don't seem to have any photo of how the conduit is actually held in place at the horn cover. I have not found any particular writing on the subject, either.

Because the previous owner had left the horn wires exposed, they touched some metal and the wiring burned up. All has been replaced, but in installing the conduit, I just need to know if it simply lays inside the hole to the rear horn cover on my Sparton horn or is it installed in some manner to hold it in place?

I didn't know if the rubber washers/gaskets to the radiator shell actually held the conduit strip to the horn up enough to keep it from moving or not. Hope that makes sense in what I am asking about.

Thanks for any info.

The horn conduit which has a smaller OD from the headlight conduit fits in the slot in the rear horn cover tightly to hold it in place. Basically the conduit ribs lock it in. Do not over tighten the rear cover screw and lock washer or it will affect the horn sound.. It just gets loosely snug

Mitch said it perfectly. Make sure the bullet connectors go in the side of the phenolic insulators. The copper spring tabs will lock them in place if pushing in and all is well

Don't know if this helps or not, kinda hard to get a good picture with the horn on the vehicle.

Thanks for the info. My horn was not all together when I got my truck, so the conduit was not in place to view it and on all the other Model A's I have owned, I had never had to have he horn apart like thi sone.

Your pic looks a bit wonky to me as if the mounting bracket is not in the right place .The conduit clips into the bottom slot in the cover .The end of the conduit has a collar which goes on the inside and the spiral on the conduit locks it place so it cant pull out .Make sure the horn has been assembled correctly . The bell has a small drain hole close to the flange which goes to the bottom this lets rain water out on that windy rainy day .The wires come straight up into the bottom and push vertically into the connectors on the phenolic strip . The bullet ends just clip up into the outer edge of the motor connectors . As you push them in you will feel a "click" as they locate . Give them a little wiggle to check they are home correctly . Also check you have the correct screw which holds the cover on ,early repro ones are all thread which allows you to go in too far and foul a brush carrier ,not good electrically !!! . The good ones are only part threaded so you cant do this .
