tie down points on a trailer

I am going to be transporting my model A to a wedding in a week by open trailer. Where should I tie down tie car. Have never put this car on a trailer before and don't want to damage it. Thanks

Put your tie downs between the spring perch and king pins in front and around the rear axel housings in the rear.

Tie down on the outside ends of the rear axle tubes if your going straight out with the straps.
The tubes are conical so going next to the pumpkin they can slide down..

I'm with Ronn. I have never had a problem when crossing the straps, corner to corner both front and back.

Never had any issues crossing or not crossing straps myself. However, these days I use axle straps and go straight out to the tie down point. I use the same spot of the vehicle as mentioned...end of axle tubes for rear and near the king pin on the front. Depending on how far you are going I'd check your straps the first time you get gas as they can loosen a little from the trailer bouncing...if you're renting a uhaul type trailer they typically have the tire webs in the front and that's it. In that case I've used the webs and then ran an additional strap across the rear axle.

The rap on crossing the straps is if one broke or came loose the other strap would pull the car to one side.... I have done it both ways but prefer going straight out

The other "Rap" is a crossed strap, if one breaks, will permit the load to go sideways a considerable way in the direction of the crossed strap.

I tie mine down with a strap held over each tyre. It rides beautifully.

Good advise, also stop in about 15 or 20 minutes especially if the straps are new and
cinch them down again. They will almost always need a second cinch when everything
settles in.
You can always tell the new guys they arrive with very loose straps....

wow those axles are way far back on that trailer....no wonder you loaded the car a$$-end-to
What are you talking about? The car is on the trailer backwards for a reason but it doesn't have anything to do with weight distribution. Look up Ifor Williams trailers, real quality, I'd like to see anything as good from the USA.

Yep, and check the straps every time you stop for gas, food, potty, whatever.
