How long (inches) are the head bolts used in the Z head?

I see you are a Shoebox guy. This Z head is going on a Model T. Any difference? (I am Shoebox stupid other than I love those cars)

No need to use grade 8 bolts. This is a Model T, and the head bolts on a Z head are the same length as stock T high head bolts. Using hardware capable of higher than necessary torque adds nothing to your car except unnecessary expense.

The best bolts that you can use are original Ford head bolts. Add a flat washer between the bolt and the aluminum cylinder head to prevent galling the head.

Very true, Royce. Originals are best. However, watch out for reproductions made using low quality steel.
