Model A Ford Reality Show

Several years ago our property was used as a location for a reality show. After watching two days of filming, I will never ever watch another reality show! As a former ad guy and promoter, I'm here to tell you that about the only way a Model A reality TV show will ever make it off the drawing board is if you can get a sponsorship from Depends.

I think I just heard Mitch volunteer his shop for the setting. :D

Do it your self and then sell the result. You can also see if a local cale company has opening at night. The show Graveyard Cars started that way.

The way I look at it, I'm a helleva lot more smart than Chumway, damn sure in better shape and far better looking. I just don't have the money he does, but....how did he get the money. ;)

I wasn't really thinking of a reality show in that sense but more like a weekly program of getting news from Model A'ers around the country whether it be a maintenance, touring or a meet/swap up. I know we have many many fine youtube postings, take them and put them on a small syndicated TV circuit and see where it would go. We have the events, the venue, the people and we surely have the Model A's.;)

You have to consider how many folks here on the barn won't even post where they live and work on their cars.

Participation would not be mandatory....unless they care to watch the program only, whether they are members here or elsewhere.

If you got some of the guys over on Aooga like Larry Brumfield, you'd have the kind of drama that would result in great ratings! Maybe bring Shelly in for a guest appearance every once in awhile.

It would appear this proposal is headed to the same destiny as the shot down trip across America. Visions of this magnitude seem to be far beyond the desires of most common Model A folk. Propose it to the Two Model A groups and let them run with it. Wayne

Why not get Frank and Mike from the pickers to use their vast influence on major tv drama to get a Model A show. They know everything and everybody, surely they could make it happen or wait we need to just call Danny D she would get it done. If they could do for the A community what they have done for the people who actually do try to make a real living buying and selling we would all be home free.

They better sponsor us, we are their best and most Depend - able customers...:)

No!

This can not be allowed . . .

A Model A Ford reality show would force prices into the stratosphere. We people of modest means would be reduced to owning Ford Pintos and maybe even some form of crap can chevrolet. Every clueless goober and TV couch potato slob on the planet earth would be demanding to own a A Model Ford. Also, there are so many 1928-31 model year Fords still in existence tucked away here n' there, that once reactivated, the already overcrowded roadways would be gridlocked with clattering Henry Ford four bangers. Just the constant sound made from zillions of roaring Klaxon horns would keep us up all night.

Besides, the highly influential AMC Pacer and 4-6-8 Cadillac collector crowd would never allow an exclusively Model A Ford dedicated show.

So . . . Forget about it.

Meanwhile . . . a short trip down nostalgia alley. Below . . . one of our cars of times yore. An early 1930 Ford former Fitchburg, Massachusetts police car. Picture taken on July 4th, 1969. Was sold by me to a guy from near Atlantic City in southern New Jersey forty-five years ago. Where is this car now?

A Model A reality show, as described on this forum, is doomed to failure. No one as indicated how the cleavage and tattoos will be supplied.
