Wheel spacers for 35 wheels on 40 hubs

What do you fellows use to glue the spacers to the wheel. I have used PV7 but just a little bump when putting the wheel on and it pops off. PV7 seems to be too brittle for this application. Seems like I need something that will hold it good and tight but still remain somewhat flexible. What say you? Thanks, and Merry Christmas.

Not familiar with 46-48 hubs, but they are probably required on those as well. The spacers are cut from 4" ID tubing. Sorry I don't have the thickness right at hand but I am sure someone will jump in with the correct thickness. It is not .025, however, like the ones advertised for $75.00 a set. Your machinest can cut them for you for $25.00 to $30.00. I'll try to find the thickness and post it if no one does.

what spacers do i need to put 35 spoke on a 46 to 48 front hub and 40 rear hubs thank for the explanations

I made my own spacers and I don't glue them on. 4" pipe is the right stuff. You need to measure a mechanical brake drum for the height of the nub which backs the wheel. I believe it's closer to 3/16" not the 1/4". But measure a drum and you'll be right on. When you put the wheel on leave the lug nuts loose and center the ring before tightening and snug the nuts up as you go. that way it doesn't fall off and you know it'll always be true center. I have many trouble free miles without vibration doing it this way.

Lawson-

I am familiar with your problem. I have tried various super glues and epoxy concoctions and found the ring falling off as I attempted to install the wheel. Out of shear frustration I gave up and used some masking tape to hold the ring in place. It worked. The key is the ring only needs to be held until the wheel is seated. Once this occurs the ring centers itself and locks in place. I admit it is primitive but it does work!

Oh yes, the ring thickness I use is 0.190-0.200"

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom. I just could not think of the 0.190 to 0.200 figure. One of mine had to be 0.225 because of that particular wheel I think. Anyhow. Masking tape might just do the job. I have had to change wheels a couple of times and the darned things kept getting knocked off. I'll try the tape. Merry Christmas.
