Adjusting the advance-retard rod.

I have noticed that i am not getting the full movement from one side of the cut out section on the distributor to the other when I move the lever at the steering wheel end.

I've read somewhere that the bracket on the steering column has to be loosened and the whole thing turned ?

Any advice or link's appreciated. Is it in any of the Les Andrew's book's.

That can only be done with the two-tooth steering system (mid-1929-1931), not the seven-tooth (1928-mid-1929) in passenger cars. If you have a seven-tooth, you might try bending the little arm on the steering column with two small vise grip pliers: one to hold the arm, the other gripping just below the ball to bend it. You can also bend the rod itself to put a bow in it.

It's the clamp above the gear box, loosen and twist the column. Don't forget to tighten up the clamp or you will be doing it over( yep I did it over :-(

You will also need to loosen the clamp on the steering column support that attaches to the bottom of the gas tank located inside the car.
