Removing the Radiator Cap on a 1931 Model A

Can we assume that the cover of the cap just lifts off to expose the allen socket heads? Or are there holes in the cap for access? Or does it fold back like a Quail cap. Wearing my reading glasses hasn't helped me to visualize this issue.

I am too cheep to purchase a new set of allen wrenches for the want of one odd size wrench. I just ground off a small amount fron all 6 flats with my bench grinder. Worked perfectly.

Menards has a 2 for 1 sale right now on Allen wrenches, so you can buy a metric and standard sets both for $2.

It does a quarter turn then folds back.

Well, not really that cheep. Just wanted to get my project done without leaving the garage at that moment.

The Allen keys arrived this morning. The radiator cap took 20 seconds to remove and the radiator shell slid straight off. Worth waiting for.
