Anyone experince this

>>>Paper towel with water came right off no smear, no smell.>>>

Prolly salt from a salty road puddle you drove over. Now give it a taste test to confirm. 8^)

No spray seen under the car on frame or on inside of right front wheel???

Its not salt, no spray under car, my headers are painted black no spray on headers.

White dry spray is only on passenger side, only on front of battery facing radiator, upper firewall above solenoid, and underside of hood. white spots...

Do you have any additives or radiator cleaner in your cooling system ?

Years ago, my cousin put calgon water softener, ( I think it was white ),
in his radiator to clean it, and that left a white residue all over the place.

Only Prestone.. Very strange I tightened hose clamps, and wiped it all clean. I'll take a ride tomorrow and if it happens again, I'll take pics and post here.

Thanks guys for tryin and even the humor:)

Could it be related to the oil fill draft tube at the rear of your intake?

I don't think so, it's white and also on the front side of battery. It's clearly being blown from the front while driving. If antifreeze dries white Id say that's what it is, but to dry and that quick - very strange in deed

Guys,
Could the Optima battery have sprung a leak while being over-charged, squirting electrolite onto the underhood?? Sounds like the right area. Any dribble on the battery case??

You may have a leaky water pump. That's what they do in the early stages of going bad. Mine would spray a fine mist that could be felt behind the fan.
For a road test, you need to remove the hood, have someone sit backwards on the front right fender and then get it up to sixty. The fender sitter should be able to see where the leak is.

The fender sitter should have his affairs in order.

I don't see any leak around the head bolts - but again would antifreeze make a white dry spots? - I see same white spots on the hose that goes from the top of head to radiator.

But in my mind antifreeze would say wet not dry.....

I think you've found your problem.

I never worked on heads. Could the head gasket (if it wef beginning to break down) leave a dry white residue?

also the gentleman that mentioned the water pump. Would antifreeze dry and leave white spots?

One way to tell for sure if antifreeze leaves white spots...dab a little on a piece of metal and check it later.

My wife's car has a small seep on the side tank of the radiator that will only leak if she has had it up to high rpm like in passing someone, it leaves the spots you are talking about. It never appears wet, it's a newer car and uses the odd Chrysler orange antifreeze. She never knows why but I'll ask her if she was in a hurry today if I see the spots on the side of the engine compartment.

I'm thinking you may be right. I suspected this but didn't think antifreeze would leave a dry spotted look. Now I just need to find the leak. The spray is pretty broad.

Could it be a malfunctioning radiator cap, pin hole in radiator hose or heater hose, leaking temp sending unit or any other place that is attached to the cooling system? How about the hoses that attach to the heater?
