Engine Test Stand

[Model A Fan]

I looking for people's ideas and ones they've built on test stands for running their engine prior to installing it. Something like either a wood frame or metal frame with a gas tank and battery mounted on it with gauges. I recently began welding and feel up to the task of welding one together.

What do you use for your test stand? Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Gleaner combine engine mounts work well. Have one for sale and a Gleaner radiator. Also have the front mount with crank guide from another. Rod

I saw that thread as I was checking to see if anyone else had made a thread similar to this one. I was hoping there might be someone who had made a plan our had one that would be easily copied.

The guys in our club used some of the suggestions in that string and made one just based on pictures and whatever they had laying around. Gathering up all the peripherals like radiator, manifolds, flywheel, housings, starter, etc. was pretty easy, everyone contributed spares out of their stash. It gets passed around to whomever needs it next. I don't have any pictures, but there are some on Facebook: Alaskan As Model A Ford Club.

That's a good easy to build stand, and no good original Model A parts were hurt to make it.
