1930 ccpu door male dovetail

anyone ever have to shim out dovetail on door jam ? mine seems to be making contact on the end about 1/4 inch. thanks, mike

Mine was doing the same AND not engaging the female part on the door properly. I spent a few minutes and made a new one which engages the slot much better in both directions. The one on the other side is a bigger problem. The rubber blocks in the door fitting are perished and mushy. Are replacements available for those? If not, I'll have to make a mould and cast some new ones for myself and maybe make a new male as well.

yes new rubbers and metal guides available, check brattons, snyders, a&l. may have to grind the rubbers to fit right. make sure to clean out female rubber out . all of it.

I've only been in touch with Bert's once. They did not get back to me as they promised. So far as I am concerned, when that happens we have the end of ALL dialogue.
