This is a short report on my most recent experience with these 3 suppliers.

I am working on a 1936 1/2 ton pickup. Entering the "put it back together" phase and I need lots of little doo-dads, gaskets, rubber baby buggy bumpers, etc.

So last Wednesday night I placed a small order with each of these three suppliers. About 1/2 dozen parts each. All three orders were done online. By Thursday evening the next day I had shipping tracking numbers from all three. Being in the midwest, I got the package from Mac's in New York and Carpenter in North Carolina on Monday. Bob Drake's package arrived today (Wednesday).

All in all, they all shipped within 24 hours and got the package to me for reasonable cost with ground shipping.

None of the three had any backorders, the orders were filled 100% the first time. However, that was partly because the online shipping told me if they had something in stock. I think one part was out of stock with one supplier so I ordered it from another one.

Going through my new treasures for the most part I was satisfied with the quality. I did notice a couple of the parts from Mac and Carpenter appeared to be Drake parts that had new labels stuck on them, and the glove box liner appears to be a re-labeled Vintique product, which I usually avoid if possible.

I got a cowl lace kit which I like, but the screws are horrid so I will be ordering those from Roy. Also the firewall fuel line clip looks cheap and I am going to try a repro from Roy Nacewicz.

Go buy a lottery ticket ! With your luck, don't waste money buying more than one ticket - why waste the money ?

Scott good to hear your results, we are lucky to have the number of suppliers that offer parts for our hobby. I use Joe's antique, great to work with as a lot of the parts come from the three you have mentioned.

Hope these guys and the Berts, Mikes, Snyders and Langs for T's and A's are around in another 20 years for the next restoration generation.

This is a great hobby and a productive way to spend time and money restoring and bringing something mechanically back to life. Hope the Ford Barn wealth of information is here in 20 years as well. Scott

Some times they work...sometimes they don't. The parts angels were looking over you...this time.
Most of my orders go just fine, but it's the funky ones we put all the energy into.
Thanks for the good report., very encouraging.

A lot of the times when I order parts they look very good until you try to put them on your car, that is when I usually get mad because the fitment, I don't care who the parts are from, just does not fit or function like an original ford part. I always try to buy original regardless of how small or big. Glad you are satisfied with your orders!

Agreed!
It takes some diligent shopping to get the right parts. Even something as simple as a gas filler neck I got an NOS one instead of a reproduction. The tank itself is a repro, I didn't want to mess wih cleaning, de-rusting, sealing, and future issues.
I'm going to use original latches, window regulators, handles, locks, etc.
I just don't have a good feeling about those pieces as reproductions.
