I bet your right on the 40. The guy that owns it swore it was a 38 which I new wasn't correct. I was thinking it was a 39 standard. Thanks

Wow, What a great find. The sheet metal looks OK to? Definitely a 1940 Ford Standard Coupe. If it had been a 1939 model, there would be no Quarter Windows, the Windscreen would have opened and the Windscreen Wipers would have been mounted at the top. I hope you took it home with you?

That 1950 Ford F3 you found is none to shabby. It looks like it just needs a battery and you could drive it away. It is hard to believe these old cars survive so well in snow country?

If you look at the rear fenders, a '40 standard will have only a single tail light of the " Chevron" style, a '39 will have two tail lights of the "tear drop" style. The stainless trim in the photos is '40 standard. The dash will also be different from '39 to '40. Round gauges are '39, rectangle gauge cluster is '40.

wish I could find a truck that looks as good as that!! coupe is a 40, door from a fordor will fit with just a little trimming at the top.

nice projects , a 39 would have windshield wipers above on roof,i prefer the 40 std over the deluxe

looking at junk around here for trucks, did you or can you buy these?. I would be interested in the truck, even if it is up north
